Big Steps For Our Little Ones

There is big news in the Hudson household! Tyler is finally wearing 'big boy underpants' all day. It has been a long process but we buckled down and have been successful. We are on day 4. Jonah is trying very hard to walk. Yesterday he took about 3 steps before deciding to crawl or grab something several times throughout the day. He also said his first word besides Mama, Daddy, uh oh, and what we think is Tyler. He said 'a-nana' (banana)! Tyler had a banana and Jonah apparently wanted one, too. When we didn't really react to his grunting and pointing he decided to use a different tactic and yelled, "A-NANA! A-NANA!"

OK, OK!!! We finally did it, you will be happy to know - we got Jonah's hair cut! We went to the cute little place where they get to sit in a race car while they cut their hair, they took a picture and gave us a little card with a snip of his hair in it. Maybe now he won't be accused of being a girl as much any more!

This weekend Jo Ann and Bruce came down. They were here to help take care of the boys since Leslie was getting married and all our baby sitters were going to be at the wedding. It was great for them to spend some time with the boys and it was great for us to get to do some grown up things without worrying how long we'd been gone or if the boys were being well taken care of.

Leslie's wedding and all the events surrounding it were wonderful! Friday my mom hosted the bridesmaids luncheon and it was not only beautiful (her sunroom and tile backsplash were finished in the nick of time!) but delicious. The rehearsal went well, as did the St. Patrick's Day themed dinner afterwards. In our party favor bags were scratch off lottery tickets, since the party was hosted just over the SC line, and out of 30 people there 3 won prizes - Joe and both my parents! I think the grand total of the prizes was $6 and we donated them to the groom for the honeymoon!

Saturday I spent the day with Leslie and her sister getting our hair done and sipping champagne while we tried to remember how to apply make-up! I think we cleaned up pretty well (don't have pictures yet, but I'm sure I will get some). The wedding was beautiful. It was a Lutheran ceremony but held in a really neat historic bed and breakfast. The flowers were probably the most spectacular flowers I've ever seen. The food was wonderful and a good time was had by all. Leslie and Stan are headed off on a cruise for their honeymoon. I'm looking forward to seeing all the pictures and as soon as I get some, I'll put them up on the site.

P.S. Tooth #4 came through over the weekend - the other bottom tooth and the first one at all on the right side. Hopefully he will be all balanced out soon!

Adjustment to pictures on site

As I've mentioned before, this new website is going to take some getting used to. Let me know if you like the set up because if you don't, there are a lot of ways we can try. I've changed what you see when you click the 'Our pictures...' link to the right and when you click it now, you'll see a slide show of the latest pictures we've added. You can then click 'To The Hudsons' photos ' at the top left of the page and it will take you to where you can see 'Sets' of pictures (left side of screen) or if you like the calendar view, that option is over on the right of the screen. I'm just trying new things out, so we'll see what ends up working best!

Jonah Gets 3rd Tooth!

Finally the 3rd tooth has come through. He's still not walking, but I expect it to be any time.

This weekend we went to the Charlotte Checkers (hockey) game. The boys really had fun. It was our first hockey experience. Tyler said, "When I grow up I want to hit a ball into the 'nest' like they are!"

We are experiencing the price of home ownership. This morning we woke up to our bathroom swarming with carpenter ants. I freaked out thinking they were termites but the pest control people came and reassured me that carpenter ants weren't nearly as bad as termites and they can easily get rid of them for us. YIKES!

Finally....A New Website!!!

OK, we (meaning Joe) finally set up a new website!!! We will post our latest happenings here and there is a link over on the right of this page that says 'Our Pictures' that will take you to our latest pictures. It may take me a little while to get used to this new site, but I will keep you posted if there are any new features you should know about. There is a way to order pictures or other items with any of our pictures on them directly from this website. I haven't spent the time to figure out how, but if you want to do that, I can figure out how and let you know.

So the latest here is:

Joe's contract job is coming to a close and now he will have an opportunity to work on new products for My Ad Box, Inc. There are a couple of other projects that may start soon, too. If they do, we'll keep you up to date on those!

Sarabeth will be getting ready for Leslie's wedding coming up in just over a week. I'll help Leslie with any last minute wedding issues, then help my mom get the bridesmaid luncheon together. I'm taking bets on how soon it will be before Leslie and Stan get pregnant!

Tyler is working hard on potty training. We aren't there yet, but we've made some good progress.

Jonah has finally gotten his 2nd tooth! He's not quite walking yet, but has taken a step. His vocabulary consists of about 3 words: Mama, Hi and Uh-oh. He may have said Daddy a couple of times, too!
